Australia’s Ambassador - Designate to Lithuania Meets Sydney Lithuanians

Mr. Paul Wojciechowski has been appointed as Australia’s new Ambassador to Lithuania. Ambassador - Designate Wojciechowski will also be the Ambassador to Poland and the Czech Republic, residing in Poland. He expects to present his credentials in Lithuania early in 2016.
Mr Woijciechowski requested a meeting with representatives of the Sydney Lithuanian Community at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) offices in Sydney last Wednesday, November 25, to discuss issues of importance to Australian Lithuanians. Present at the meeting with the Ambassador - Designate were Lithuania’s Honorary Consul General in Sydney Ginta Viliūnas, together with representatives of the Federal Executive of the Australian Lithuanian Community - President Dr Ramutis Zakarevičius, Vice President Eglė Garrick and Treasurer Giedrimas Jeglinskas - and the President of Sydney Lithuanian Commuinty Jadvyga Burokienė.
Prior to his appointment as ambassador Mr Wojciechowski has been the Assistant Secretary of the Economic Advocacy and Analysis Branch of DFAT. He is a graduate of the University of Queensland and has a Master’s degree from Monash University in Foreign Affairs and International Economics.
