SLIC is pleased to report that funding for eight new Lithuanian Language Lessons on the SLIC website has been received from Lithuania and Australia. One part of the funding has come from the Department of National Minorities and Lithuanians Living Abroad attached to the Government of the Republic of Lithuania (Tautinių Mažumų ir Išeivijos Departmentas (TMID) prie Lietuvos Respublikos Vyriausybės). The other part of the funding has come from the Australian Lithuanian Foundation (ALF) Inc.
SLIC has been run from its inception in 2002 by dedicated volunteers and belongs to the Australian Lithuanian Community - Sydney Inc, who were very happy to hear the good news. The eight new Lithuanian Language Lessons will follow on from the very successful free 24 Lithuanian Language Lessons already on the website. It is planned for the first group of these new lessons to be loaded on to the website before the end of 2007.

The Australian Lithuanian Community - Sydney Inc is very grateful to both TMID and ALF for this grant.
