Australian Lithuanian Filmmaker Sebastian Danta’s Film Shown on SBS TV

On February 6, 2009, Australia’s SBS (Special Broadcasting Service) TV channel showed the animated short film “Father” by Sebastian Danta. The subject of the film is the filmmaker’s father, Australian Lithuanian Dr Gytis Danta from Canberra.
The world premiere of “Father” took place in Zagreb, Croatia, on June 2008 and it has since been shown at numerous film festivals around the world, including Sydney’s Flickerfest in January this year. It has already won prizes – as the “Best Animation” at the 2008 Enhance TV ATOM Awards and “Best Fiction” at Migr@tions (Canada), run by Radio Canada on the theme of immigration. Further screenings of “Father” on SBS TV are expected.
