In Sydney most of the Lithuanian pilgrims were billeted at the St. Michaels Parish in Stanmore, where they took part in three days of Catechesis (teaching) sessions, led by Bishop Bartulis. One of the pilgrims, Antanas Šutas, had the honour of serving at the Mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI. After the conclusion of the World Youth Days, Sydney Lithuanians had the opportunity to meet the Lithuanian pilgrims. They were welcomed at the Sydney Lithuanian Club on Tuesday evening, July 22, in a function organised by the President of the Sydney Lithuanian Community, Greta Savickaitė-Fletcher.
