Major Runway Reconstruction at Vilnius Airport

For over a month from 4 July till 17 August 2017 Vilnius airport will close, to allow a major reconstruction of the Vilnius airport runway. During this time 14 of the 16 airlines normally operating from Vilnius airport will divert their flights to Kaunas.
The works to be carried out will include replacing the old runway pavement and strengthening its foundation. Also there will be work on new drainage and lighting systems. The works are expected to cost €25 million.
