Lithuania’s pavilion at Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China, has become a firm favourite with visitors. Since Expo 2010 opened on May 1, 2010, already more than a million visitors have visited Lithuania’s pavilion. With visitors averaging 37,000 a day, the stream of visitors to Lithuania’s pavilion has surpassed original estimates by a huge margin. So much so, that up to 6 million visitors are expected to visit Lithuania’s pavilion during the six month period that Expo 2010 will be open.
Chinese visitors are showing a keen interest in things Lithuanian, from taking part in Lithuanian dances to trying out traditional Lithuanian dishes. A firm favourite is making a wish standing on the “miracle tile”, which has been specially brought to Shanghai from the Cathedral Square in Vilnius. And of course everyone wants to try their hand at basketball!
