Young Australian Lithuanian High Achievers
Louis Simon Garrick
In the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) examinations last year a number of young Australian Lithuanians achieved very high marks.
Louis Garrick achieved the exceptionally high overall mark of 99.9%, placing him near the top of almost 70,000 candidates in the HSC examination. He was acknowledged as a 'Top All-Rounder' and will receive a 'Premier's Award from the Premier of
Mantas Zegeris - Kaleda
Paulina Muliuolytė
NSW, Morris Iemma, in February this year. Additionally he was placed third in the NSW Music 2 exam and was nominated to play in 'Encore', the HSC outstanding Music performance concert, for his HSC programme of Schoenberg, Bartok, Sculthorpe and his own composition ‘Eidetic Shadow' for flute, trombone, percussion, piano and cello. Louis Simon Garrick was dux of St Andrew's Cathedral School in Sydney and he is going on to study Mathematics at university.
Mantas Zegeris - Kaleda received a mark of 97% in his Lithuanian Language HSC examinations and became Dux of the State in Lithuanian. Paulina Muliuolytė came second in the State in her Lithuanian language HSC examinations, not far behind Mantas' mark. In 2005 both Mantas and Paulina were in Year 11 and both were students at the Saturday School of Communities Languages at Strathfield Girls High School.
