The Oskaras Korđunovas Theatre (OKT/Vilnius City Theatre) of Lithuania will perform during the month long Melbourne International Arts Festival in October 2008. The internationally famous
Lithuanian director Oskaras Korđunovas founded the theatre in 1997 and his theatre productions have toured many cities in the world to great acclaim.
In Melbourne the theatre will perform a modern version of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” set in rival pizzerias. It will perform at the
Arts Centre, Playhouse in Melbourne

- Friday October 24 - 7.30 pm
- Saturday October 25 - 1 pm & 7.30 pm
Oskaras Korđunovas Theatre is in great demand in theatres in Europe and beyond. In the Asia Pacific region it has already visited Japan and Singapore. Prior to their Australian trip, in August
5-8 they performed at Kronberg Castle in Denmark, while in early September they will perform in Stavanger, Norway. Stavanger is one of the two European Capitals of Culture for 2008.
