Contemporary Lithuanian Poetry Acclaimed in London

The latest issue of the "Poetry Review" (Spring 2008) has a special 64 page supplement on Contemporary Lithuanian Poets, in which the poetry of ten leading Lithuanian poets is presented.

The poets featured are Tomas Venclova, Sigitas Parulskis, Kornelijus Platelis, Marcelijus Martinaitis, Antanas Jonynas, Eugenijus Ališanka, Vytautas Bložė, Daiva Čepauskaitė, Donatas Petrošius, Donaldas Kajokas. Their works were translated into English by Ellen Hinsey, Liz O‘Donaghue, Jonas Zdanys, Laima Sruoginis and Jayde Will.
"Poetry Review" started publication in 1911 and is published by the Poetry Society based in London. It is a prestigious British literary magazine with an outstanding reputation for poetry. The Lithuanian poetry supplement was issued in cooperation with Lithuanian Writers Union. A number of the Lithuanian poets read their works during presentation of the magazine, creating a geat deal of interest and acclaim.
