Australian Premiere of "Casper, the Musical" under the Baton of Jacinta Mikus

The Australian Premiere of "Casper, The Musical" premiered at the Glen Street Theatre in Sydney on October 8th, 2003, with Lithuanian heritage Jacinta Lina Mikus as Musical Director. This mod lively and appealing 'feel good' family musical is presented by Stage Artz and with this musical Jacinta Mikus also makes her Australian debut as Musical Director. "Casper, The Musical" book and lyrics are by Stephen Cole and the music is by Matthew Ward.
21 year old Jacinta was born in Sydney, moved with her family to Chicago when very young and returned to Sydney two years ago. Having started studying the flute at the age of 6 in Chicago, in 2000 she achieved first Flute/Piccolo in the State of Illinois and was rated Number 1 Flute/Piccolo in the nation, toured Europe as principal flute during two tours. In Sydney she is continuing her flute studies at The Australian Institute of Music and plays Flute/Piccolo with the Penrith Symphony and Whoolhara Symphony Orchestra. Jacinta took up the baton for the first time during a university production of "Kiss Me Kate" at the Hartt School (University of Hartford Connecticut). In 2002-2003 she was the conductor of the Sydney Lithuanian Choir.
The production of "Casper, The Musical" at the Glen Street Theatre will run until Saturday, October 18.
