Lithuania Presents a New Queen of Song to the World

Evelina Anusauskaitë, a 22-year old singing sensation from Lithuania, has wowed the world by winning the main prize in the Avon Voices singing contest. Evelina won in a field with over 6000 entrants from more than 60 countries with her own rendition of “I will always love you”, a song made famous by Whitney Houston.
Avon Voices is a global online Singing Talent Search for women and Songwriting Competition for women and men. The top ten finalists in the singing competition performed live at New York’s Hard Rock Café on November 1, 2011 and Evelina’s award was announced last Wednesday, November 2, at the Marriot Marquis hotel during a gala function with more than 8000 guests, which raised more than $2 million for the charity Avon Foundation for Women.
Evelina has been compared to famous singers Barbara Streisand and Celine Dion. After her win she was showered with congratulations by many famous stars, including six-time Grammy award winner Fergie and Australia’s singing star Delta Goodrem.
