Lithuania Continues to Post Outstanding Economic Results |
Even though Lithuania's economic growth slowed somewhat in the second half of 2003, it is
still expected to achieve an overall growth 7.5% for 2003, continuing to make Lithuania
the fastest growing economy in Europe. The economic growth in 2004 and 2005 is also
predicted to be very good, with economic growth between 6% and 7% expected. Lithuania is due to join the European Union in May 2004, together with 9 other countries. Comparing the preparedness of the 10 countries joining the EU in May 2004 to join the EU, Lithuania has been declared as the second most prepared (after Slovenia).
