Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott invited representatives of Australia's ethnic press on August 31, 2015 for afternoon coffee at his official Sydney residence, Kirribilli House.
Lithuanian press was represented by two members of Lithuanian Community Publishing Society - president Romas Cibas and director Jurgita Bieri. Lithuanian Community Publishing Society publishes the Australian Lithuanian weekly "Mūsų Pastogė".
Romas Cibas reminded Prime Minister Abbott that during 2014 Australia and Lithuania worked together as members on UN Security Council, which was readily acknowledged by the Prime Minister. Romas Cibas also brought up the issue of Putin's aggression in Ukraine and its possible consequences for Lithuania. Tony Abbott firmly assured that he has not forgotten the threats to Ukraine and that he fully understands Lithuania's concerns with Putin's untrustworthy behaviour.
