chairmanship of Inga Marčiulionytė, Lithuania’s Permanent Ambassador to UNESCO. It was a very successful and biggest ever meeting of the Heritage Committee, with over 600 international delegates in attendance. To date Lithuania has had four sites included in the World Heritage List - Vilnius Historic Centre, Curonian Spit, Kernave Archaeological Site and parts of the Struve Geodetic Arc - as well as traditional cross craftsmanship and choral festivals on the living cultural heritage list.
The delegates had the opportunity to visit many places of interest in Lithuania and to attend numerous cultural events and functions, some of which had been specially organized for the occasion - Vilnius Baroque, Historical Maps and Flags of Lithuania, Lithuanian Cross Craftsmanship, to mention just a few.
