Lithuanian Laser Wins Prestigious Award for World’s Best Scientific Laser

The Lithuanian laser manufacturer “Ekspla” has just been announced as the winner of the 2011 Prism Award for Photonics Innovation in the scientific laser category for its NT200 series nanosecond tunable wavelength lasers. The award was made during the SPIE Photonics West Conference in San Francisco January 26, 2011 by SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, and Laurin Publishing, publisher of Photonics Media. The prestigious Prism Awards is an international competition that recognises innovative products at the forefront of photonics. This year there were 27 finalists competing in 9 categories. No other company from Eastern or Central Europe, apart from “Ekspla”, has so far even made the finalists list for the Prism Awards.
