Richard Bukis Plays a Leading Role in Musical

and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"
Australian Lithuanian Richard (Rièardas) Bukis has been invited to take up the role of Jacob in the forthcoming production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", which will be staged by the Performance Arts Centre at the Bankstown Town Hall, May 11-13, 2006.
After graduating with a BA in English and Australian Literature from Sydney University, Richard obtained a Dip. Ed. from Sydney Teachers College, specialising in English method and Drama method, which gave the start to Richard’s acting

abilities. His musical talents became evident later, when he formed his own band. When the band era finished, he turned to Karaoke and has recorded over 700 songs in this medium. He has sung with the Sydney Lithuanian choir "Daina" over 10 years and has composed a number of Lithuanian songs, one of which has been included in "Daina’s" repertoire and achieved popular success.
The producer of the musical recognised Richard’s acting and musical talents and offered him the role of Jacob in the production. Richard has also composed a rock and roll opera, which could be produced in the future.
