Lithuania Honours Viktoras Šliteris OAM,Former Honorary Consul-General in Sydney

Lithuania’s Foreign Minister, Linas Linkevičius, on 11 October 2013 conferred the “Lithuanian Diplomacy Star” award on Lithuania’s former Honorary Consul-General in Sydney, Viktoras Šliteris OAM, for his long-time and fruitful labours representing Lithuania. Viktoras Šliteris served as Lithuania’s Honorary Consul in Sydney from 1994 (as Honorary Consul-General from 1997) until his retirement in 2008. As well, on October 14 2013 he was honoured with a medal by Lithuania’s National Olympic Committee for his contribution to Olympics.
Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry had previously honoured Viktoras Šliteris in 2008 with “Lithuania’s Millennium Star”. Other honours that Viktoras has received have been from Australia - the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM); and from Lithuania - the Orders of Grand Duke Gediminas, Cross of the Knight categories 3 and 5, and the Sport Order, category 2.
