Lithuanian and Australian Leaders Meet at UN Conference in Rio de Janeiro
Lithuania’s President Dalia Grybauskaitė and Australia’s Prime Minister Julia Gillard both attended the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (RIO + 20) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 20 – 22 June 2012. Associated with this conference there was a World Women Leaders Forum and Summit. President Grybauskaitė delivered a speech to the World Women Leaders Summit, at which a joint declaration "The future women want: A call to action" was signed by President Grybauskaitė, Prime Minister Gillard and other women world leaders. On the last day of the Conference President Grybauskaitė, together with the President of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla Miranda, were invited by Dilma Rousseff, the President of Brazil, to chair a round table discussion with 70 world leaders.
